In honor of the amazing author Ray Bradbury, I am giving away a copy of my Martian Chronicles inspired m/m short story ONE WAY TRIP.
The Martian Chronicles remains one of my favorite stories of all time. ONE WAY TRIP is very different, but the premise and setting are inspired by Bradbury's tale of humans feeling Earth and colonizing Mars. I have always been taken by the imagery of the Martian Chronicles, more so than almost any other story I've read. The first time I read it, I thought I was one Mars.
What is your favorite Bradbury story and why? Leave a comment below for a chance to win!

I am also a Martian Chronicles fan, simply because I love the idea of going to another world to set up a colony.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! And you know, I was a real fan of his short stories. I think I've read his collections of those more than anything else. I think stories like The Garbage Collector, The Illustrated Man, A Sound of Thunder, October Game, and The Man In The Rorschach Shirt just linger with me even more than the longer stories. Although The Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451 were great too. But I remember the shorts even better.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth -- that is so true. I love the idea of being able to live on another planet.
ReplyDeleteAndys -- YES! The Illustrated Man and A Sound of Thunder are two of my favorite of his short stories!!
Thanks for such an interesting contest. I have been a Bradbury fan since I was a kid... Decades ago (lots) :-)
ReplyDeleteThe good thing is I bet everyone entering will still be buying and reading The Martian Chronicles based m/m book of yours. It sounds great and cannot wait to read it.
Just stopping by to say hello! Already have the book so not entering contest.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stoping by Vivi! It's good to "see" you around :)
ReplyDeleteLainey -- I would be proud if anyone decided to read the Martian Chronicles based on my m/m, LOL! I can't imagine having grown up without Bradbury!!
Sadly, I just realized that I have not read any of his books! ;A;//
ReplyDeleteBut I love the sound of what his books entailed... I've always been a fan of sci-fi. I'll most definitely look for "The Martian Chronicles" the next time I go to the library.
Is there another book you can suggest I check out? (that you really liked, ;) then I'll check the others out myself. lol)
Thanks so much for the contest! :)
