Okay, I did it.  I told myself I would only send one query out then edit for a while.  But, I couldn't help myself.  I sent a second.  It went out yesterday to another epub-er.  Within 20 minutes of the company sending me the confirmation email, I received a second email stating that "Have Stake, Will Travel" made it past the initial review and was off to the que of one of the editors!  Eeeee.  I know it's not much, but any little, itty, bitty, bit of good news is definitely welcome.
